THE CELL MEMBRANE UNIT

The cell membrane is the barrier between a cell and its environment. The structure of the cell membrane allows it to selectively let materials pass through it so the cell can both get rid of substances as well as obtain needed nutrients. You will learn about the major components of the cell membrane as well as the major types of transport used to move materials into and out of cells.
